Decisions, decisions...

Today we looked at about 7 or 8 houses for sale. (We are renting now, after selling our old house to move here.)

And we found three. Boom, bang, bam. Three houses, each definitely doable. With pluses and minuses, each.

The first is gorgeous. Old, magnificent. Recently renovated. Colonial. Big. But in a slightly less desirable neighborhood (same town, just a different elementary school that isn't as liked... for us, it doesn't matter b/c we'll be getting special services, which all goes through one school). But for us, the neighborhood is more desireable: it is much more walkable.

The second I'm calling "the cute cape cod." I didn't quite expect to like it, but it's charming. (And a short sale.) It has a coveted attached garage, meaning we wouldn't have to get in or out of the car in the snow/ rain. And a short driveway, easy to shovel. The layout is my least favorite of the three, but it's fine, just not as open. My pictures did not come out well, not enough light (which is kind of a turn off). But they had their blinds closed...

The third (an updated colonial) kind of charmed me with it's flow, but it's the least walkable (that's a big deal to me). I need to go over the map more, but yeah. Also, no garage at all (but a cute little tiny cottage in the back, kind of perfect for a studio!) And a teeny koi pond. Good vibes all around, that house (belongs to a decorated fire fighter, I like that energy).

I kept saying when we saw the first house, though "This house was waiting for us." It was a serious "wow" of a house. We worry about the resale, though. (Why worry about the resale? Because we have resold a house now.) But... it's in great shape at this point (I think it was being worked on while they were listing it). And we could show it to even greater advantage, if we were ever to resell it...

We definitely have research to do. Tomorrow.
