"I Contain Multitudes..."

One of my favorite quotes of all times is this one, by Walt Whitman (and found, of course, in his most quintessential poem, "A Song of Myself").

"Do I contradict myself? Well then, I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes."

(Somehow, I always remember the line as "I am vast, I contain multitudes," which I have to admit I like the flow of better. Sorry Uncle Walt!

And while I don't have a pressing example of my own contradictions today, I think it always a good idea to keep this idea in the back of my head: "I am large, I contain multitudes."

Contradictions are an inherent part of our nature, as human beings.

Take some time today to muse on your own contradictions, while I get started packing for our move next week (which may be moved up to Wednesday! WHOA.)
