adding a stool to the standing desk

Yesterday, we went to IKEA. In terms of low key indoor kid entertainment where I can sit while he plays, IKEA is the best. Plus decent enough food and shopping. What's not to like?

For awhile, I've been wanting to add a higher chair to my standing desk situation.

I know, I know, that seems like an oxymoron: standing desk, shouldn't you stand at it? But ergonomics, my friends, is about changing positions often.

Standing. Sitting. Standing. Sitting. It's a good mixture of positions for our bodies.

(Actually, one should also add breaks - walking and stretching and dancing! I'm a big fan of dance breaks, when I'm not sick. When I'm sick I'm a big fan of resting all day, preferably in bed. Obviously, I'm on the mend now, since I'm not in bed. Still not up for dance breaks, though. But feeling much, much better.)

IKEA, of course, had a decently priced, perfect height bar stool. They also have the cutest owl notebooks, with unlined paper! Remy and I both got one (he got the little one, of course, while I got the big one).

And I also got some new frames so I can start adding to the photo wall behind my desk. Of course, after we'd left, I had another idea about that (adding pops of color to the frames, so it isn't all black frames), but that just means we'll have to go back later.

Yup, I heart IKEA.
