"The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings."
- Okakura Kakuzo
I'm heart-sick over the rioting in England --non-violent protests would thrill me but these senseless bloody riots are just horrible. Beating and looting the members of your own community, who are in the same situation you are in? Where is the sense in that?
But we're human and we readjust. All humans do, eventually, it is how we survive. Everyone will wake up who is alive to wake up and eventually it will end. Somehow, someway. Nothing is permanent. Except death.
I am praying that readjustment for England means the government putting vital services for at-risk populations back on the table.
And I'm really praying that eventually we'll wake up here in the US and remember what it means to be human again. To care for each other. To take care of the hurt, the sick and the ones who cannot take care of themselves.
I'm praying we all readjust before it is too late.
