bath salts for a sick day

Day three of this horrendously annoying head cold. This morning I woke up and couldn't talk, my throat was so raw (M says I snored all night). The rest of me feels slightly better today, but the rawness is... well, raw. It's eased up some since I had some sorbet. Cold seems to make it happier than hot, so I think I'll have less soup/ tea today.

More resting is in order. And yet another bath with some of my made on the spot bath salts.

In one cup of epsom salt mix:

6-12 drops eucalyptus essential oil
6-12 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops orange essential oil
2 drops of jasmine essential oil (mine is diluted but not synthetic, it makes a difference)
2 drops patchouli or sandalwood essential oils

Cover with a lid and shake until blended (or stir? I guess that could work). I use a jar to make mine up each time I take a bath, and just decide on the essential oils right then and there. This has been the one for the last couple of day, though, it helps me feel better.

Do be careful about eucalyptus essential oil. I'm very tolerant, I can add a lot to my baths. You may be more sensitive, I don't know. Be your own guide.

Today is a school half day and oh boy, I'm not sure how that's going to go. Yesterday it was a struggle to stay upright until M got home to relieve me. Today, we'll see. I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and go do something with Remy, but wow, it hurts just to swallow and that's just not fun.

But we'll see where two more hours of resting get me this morning. And some more daytime cold medicine.
