four year journal

My 38th birthday is in three weeks. Yesterday, I ordered myself a notebook big enough to use as a four year journal . Yes, I know five year journals are more common, but four is my lucky number and four years of birthdays will bring me to the answer of the universe.

(Yes, obviously, I'm a Douglas Adams geek. My high school senior quote was, "So long and thanks for all the fish." This was years before the movie came out. I thought I was so clever, but no one else I knew - except my mom - got the joke. Le sigh.)

For the four year journal, this is what I'm gonna do:

Start with this 400 page graph paper journal (I wish it came in different colors, but we can't always get what we want).

On my birthday, I'll start. Section each page into fourths (I'm figuring I'll do that as I go, day by day). With margins, that basically gives me 4 3x4 sections. One to fill out each year. Big enough for an instagram print from the day (I can print them out weekly) and maybe a sentence or two.

I'll still be doing my daily journaling in a separate book. Not gonna give that up!

(I am also thinking up different ways to make it easier for me to remember to print out photos and have them around the house. I'm not a scrapbooker, but I think I can take some scrapbooking ideas and make them work for me. It's ridiculous that I have so few photos around the house.)
